About me

Hello, I'm Minchen Eichblatt, the founder, creative mind, and hands behind Maison en Verre, a company I launched in 2021. I design and create one-of-a-kind headpieces, from intricate fascinators to dramatic statement hats, all with an eye for detail and a deep passion for historical fashion.

My journey began at 13 when I taught myself how to sew. At 14, I discovered my fascination with historical clothing, which naturally led me to study Stage Costume Design at the University of the Arts in Berlin. My passion for history is the driving force behind my work, and the art of creating garments and headwear is the perfect outlet for me to bring those historical influences into the present.

I’ve always been particularly drawn to the fashion of the 1920s, and my expertise lies in bringing the elegance and drama of that era to life, especially through hats and headpieces. From hand-stitching and embroidery to creating custom fascinators, I’ve made it my mission to combine my love for craftsmanship with the glamour of vintage styles.

I'm also a self-taught artisan, with a growing collection of vintage sewing patterns, textile magazines, and old fabrics that fuel my creativity. My work has taken me on fascinating journeys, from lending headpieces to singer Celeste for her 2022 UK tour (which unfortunately was canceled due to illness) to outfitting the Kabarett der Namenlosen in 2023 with my designs. I also have experience in the medieval and early 20th-century styles, having worked on costumes for medieval groups in the 1990s and creating 1920-era costumes for the Mord Mysterium at Høirijs Slot in the 2010s.

Maison en Verre is my passion project, blending history, fashion, and craft into pieces that tell stories, evoke emotions, and make statements. Thank you for visiting my world, and I look forward to creating something special for you.
